Pete Davidson and Elsie Hewitt reached a coparenting agreement for their daughter two months after their split.

On Friday, July 31, a source confirmed to PEOPLE that the former couple, who welcomed daughter Scottie, 7 months, in December 2025, have reached a “joint agreement pertaining to their child” following their split in May.

“We are cooperatively coparenting our daughter whose well-being remains our top priority, and we are fully committed to working together to give her love from both of us,” the couple shared in a joint statement.

Davidson, 32, and Hewitt, 30, welcomed the little one, who is named after Davidson’s late father, Scott Matthew Davidson, in December 2025, months after they were first romantically linked in March 2025.

PEOPLE later confirmed that the model and comedian had split in May. The news came after a source told PEOPLE in April that the pair were actively trying to navigate relationship struggles together following the birth of their daughter.

Later that month, a source told PEOPLE that Hewitt was feeling the “full mental load of motherhood” after the split. “She’s talking about the day-to-day reality of raising her baby largely on her own while also trying to continue working and building stability for herself and her daughter,” the source explained of Hewitt’s TikTok post about trying to keep priorities straight.

The insider added, “They had relationship challenges for a while, which was very stressful for her, and she feels the full mental load of motherhood right now.”

Although Hewitt loves being a mom to her and Davidson’s daughter, the source said that she is facing the “emotionally and physically exhausting” challenges of being a single mom. “She loves being a mom, and her daughter is the cutest, but most moms understand that motherhood is emotionally and physically exhausting, especially when you carry most of the day-to-day responsibilities on your own,” the source said.

“She was talking about it from an emotional perspective and how isolating it can feel when your entire life changes overnight,” the insider continued. “She never expected to be a single mom. She’s grateful for her daughter and completely focused on being the best mom she can be, but emotionally, this has been a much harder transition than she anticipated.”

A rep for Hewitt didn’t respond to requests for comment and a rep for Davidson had no comment when reached by PEOPLE at the time.

Before the breakup, Davidson previously opened up to PEOPLE about how becoming a dad changed him, and he praised Hewitt’s parenting. “Dad life is f--king awesome,” the comedian said in March. “It is exhausting and rewarding and cute. And I’m very lucky because Elsie is a fantastic mom, and I can’t stress enough how lucky I am.”

The Saturday Night Live alum also said that fatherhood has made him feel a lot more “primal” and protective. “It’s funny,” he said at the time, adding that before welcoming his baby girl, he “didn’t understand this. You’re just ready to fight anyone.”

“It’s like, ‘Chill out. No one’s doing anything to your kid.’ But you have this weird… I guess it’s not weird. It’s good. But you have this overly protective, like… if one paparazzi guy pops out I’m going to f--king beat the living s--t out of him,” he continued. “So that’s a weird gear because I’m not a fighter guy.”

“But you develop this like, ‘Is that person looking at my baby? What are you looking at?’ You’re very, very hyper aware,” Davidson added of his newfound protectiveness over his little one. “But I guess that goes back to caveman times, you know? It’s very...what do they say? It’s like primal?”

The comedian noted, “That’s been surprising, the urge to beat the s--t out of someone. But other than that, it’s been just cute stuff.”

Additionally, in May, a source close to Davidson told PEOPLE, “Pete has made himself extremely available and has provided full financial support. Pete is actually covering all Scottie’s costs and more.” The insider added, “He is hoping Elsie has good health and success for the sake of their daughter.”

The following month, he and his daughter spent Father’s Day in New York City. An exclusive source told PEOPLE he took Scottie and his mom, Amy Waters Davidson, to the American Museum of Natural History on Manhattan’s Upper West Side to celebrate the holiday on Sunday, June 21.

“He wanted Scottie to be exposed to some of New York’s most famous museums, even though she’s still a baby,” the insider tells PEOPLE of the family outing. “Overall, it was a sweet, low-key Father’s Day - just a fun, memorable day spent with his daughter.”

“People were super friendly, respectful, and very supportive of Pete and Scottie,” the source adds. “They just had a really nice time.”
